Sandras husband has rescued four dogs during his time in Iraqi and three of them are still awaiting forever homes of their own in a kennel in Rhode Island. Sandra and her husband spend most of their free time visiting and caring for these Iraqi canine orphans. This family has invested a lot of heart, time, sweat and money to ensure that these pooches get the second chance they deserve. They are eager for the dogs to all find families to call their own. Because these are all adult rescues they are looking for more adult homes. This is what rescuer Sandra has to say about her canine charges: Farhan is a happy young dog. In fact his name means just that, happy. He is a little shy and quite sweet. One might say that Farhan is an absolute chow hound, which is completely understandable given how thin and undernourished he was when he first arrived in the USA from Iraq. He was literally skin and bones. He's at a healthy weight now and is always looking for a treat. He knows how to sit but is still working on hi-five and down. Treats are very helpful tools in his training. He's very good on a leash. Oh and can he move! Farhan likes to be brushed and will roll on his back for tummy rubs. You can tell when he likes what you're doing because he rewards you with kisses, but only when he wants to give them. I think Farhan is a gentle soul who needs to know that there is someone who loves him. I believe he would benefit greatly from consistent love and kindness. He would enjoy the security that brings. Farhan is up-to-date with routine shots and spayed/neutered.
